Whole-home audio and video built around your space
Sound and picture that feel right, look clean and work from one simple control, in every room, patio and theater.
From Lake Minnetonka homes to west metro family rooms, patios and theaters, Signal AV starts with questions, not a product catalog. Every system is built around the room, how you use it and how you want it to look.
Brands we install, picked room by room
We're dealers for every brand below and choose among them based on the room and how you'll use it.
Speakers
In-ceiling, in-wall, outdoor and wireless speakers for music and movies.
Theater and entertainment
Receivers, movie servers and video processing for media rooms and theaters. We also install Marantz.
TVs and projectors
The screen sized and placed for the room and the seating.
Music where you want it, control where you need it
Every room, every source, one tap
Stream music, podcasts or background sound to one room or every room at once. Each zone can play independently or in sync, so the kitchen can stay lively while the rest of the house stays quiet.
Speakers can be built into walls, ceilings or the landscape. No visible gear. No complicated setup. Signal AV handles the design, installation and fine-tuning, so the system works the way you expect it to.
Custom home theater installation
Experience real cinema built into your home
A dedicated home theater gives you more than a big sound and picture. It creates a space built for full immersion into your favorite media. Signal AV designs private theaters around your desired aesthetic, room dimensions and viewing habits.
We install 4K projection, high-performance surround sound, acoustic treatments and smart lighting to create a controlled, fully cinematic environment your family will love! From theater seating to screen size, every element is tailored for clarity, comfort and performance.
Our team brings deep technical knowledge and clean craftsmanship to each project. West metro homeowners count on us for home theater installations that elevate everyday entertainment into unforgettable experiences.
Flexible home media solutions
Audio/video options for every use, every day
Media rooms offer powerful audio video without the formality of a dedicated theater. These versatile spaces are perfect for everyday entertainment, so stream shows, watch sports or play video games in a living space you already use.
We build systems that blend premium AV with your décor. In-wall speakers, flat-panel displays and smart lighting keep everything stylish and clutter-free. Control it all from a single remote or app, no learning curve required.
Whether it's a family room, basement or bonus space, your media room becomes a go-to hub for connection and entertainment. Signal AV makes it all work beautifully, without overcomplication.
Outdoor AV installation
Property-wide sound, ultra-bright screens & more
Take the party outdoors with AV systems designed for Minnesota’s changing seasons. We install weather-ready TVs and landscape speakers, program outdoor audio zones and bury wiring that blends with your surroundings.
Our outdoor entertainment systems are made to perform, so you and your guests can enjoy clear sound, vibrant picture and simple control. Watch the big game by the grill, stream music by the fire pit or enjoy a quiet evening with a movie under the stars.
You set the mood with a button tap. We handle all the details as part of our process: weatherproofing, placement, connectivity and tuning. Your backyard, patio or pool area becomes an entertainment destination with limited clutter and no compromises.
Custom theater seating built for movie nights
Personalized comfort meets AV performance
Great home theaters need comfortable, more functional furniture that supports the immersive viewing experience. We help you select and install seating that complements your layout and enhances your AV system’s performance.
Choose from motorized recliners, tiered rows, loveseats or sectional options. Upholstery, finishes and accessories like cup holders, swivel trays and under-seat lighting can be tailored to your taste and budget.
We ensure optimal viewing angles and sound dispersion by aligning furniture placement with screen size and speaker configuration. The result is a theater experience where every seat feels like the best one in the house.
Invisible AV, uncompromised sound
Hidden audio/video tech disappears into design
Hidden AV systems give you full performance with none of the visual noise. Speakers vanish into ceilings or walls, displays disappear behind artwork or within cabinetry and wiring stays completely out of sight.
We collaborate with architects, builders and designers to integrate systems without disrupting your space. Whether you're preserving historic architecture or keeping a clean minimalist look, we make sure the tech supports the design, not the other way around.
Signal AV’s custom concealment solutions give you high-end audio and video you can experience without seeing. You’ll get full functionality and top-tier performance, only when you want to see it.
Recent project
Excelsior home: three entertainment spaces, one simple system
This existing Excelsior home needed three entertainment spaces that each work the way the family uses them. The party room got an 85-inch Sony BRAVIA 9 with a Sonos Arc Ultra and in-ceiling audio. In the living room, a Samsung Frame TV looks like art on the shiplap wall when it’s off. The basement family room ties a Sony BRAVIA 9 and Sonos into the speakers already in the ceiling.

Common questions
- Which Twin Cities companies design and install a home theater and whole-home audio?
Signal AV designs and installs custom home theaters, media rooms and whole-home audio systems across Lake Minnetonka and the Twin Cities west metro. That might mean music throughout the house, a dedicated theater or a family room that works equally well for watching TV and entertaining. We handle everything from system design and equipment selection to installation, programming and ongoing support.
- Can I have great sound throughout my home without seeing speakers everywhere?
Absolutely. Some of the best audio systems are the ones you barely notice until you turn them on. We use speakers that can be installed in ceilings, built into walls or even completely hidden, depending on the room. The goal is excellent sound without speakers and equipment taking over the look of the home.
- What's the difference between a media room and a dedicated home theater?
A media room is designed for multiple purposes, while a dedicated theater is built mainly around watching movies. A media room might be where the family watches TV, listens to music or entertains guests. A dedicated theater puts more emphasis on acoustics, speaker placement, seating, lighting and picture quality. Neither is better. It comes down to how you want to use the space.
